My Story

From North Carolina, to New York, and beyond.

Parker Jenkins holds an MFA in Acting & Stagecrafts from The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University. He is also a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, receiving degrees in Psychology (BS) and Dramatic Arts (BA), with minors in neuroscience and chemistry and concentrations in neuropharmacology and acting.

Working as a actor, lighting designer, director, and playwright—along with his research and studies in clinical neuropharmacology and pathopsychology—Parker’s theatrical work centers around the myriad of mental, emotional, and social struggles of “the human experience.” He began acting ten years ago after his sister was too nervous to audition for a community production of Seussical The Musical alone, so he tagged along—and consequently fell in love with the stage.

After graduating from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Parker’s plan was to go to medical school to study neurology—but he found himself moving to New York to study at The Actors Studio Drama School. He’s drawn towards art that challenges the very notion of what art can be—pushing the limits of dramatic form and testing the boundaries of the next generation of performance art. Now, he is combining his two passions—and areas of study—to explore the theatrical experience and address the psychological nuances that underlie the modern human experience.
